The purpose of The Integrated Self is to provide a guide for navigating your human experience consciously through lasting personal and spiritual growth. Integration of both the Ego and the Soul is what we call the Integrated Self, and balance is a main pillar of the Integrated Self Model. Those on their journeys of growth may experience internal competition between their Ego and Soul. The primary job of your Ego is to keep you safe and validated as you do your best in the world, while your Soul is working on your connection to God and your existence. By accepting and balancing the expression of both the Ego and Soul, you experience less of this competition and find that both can exist and support each other. Through expanding consciousness and rewriting your story, you are able to evolve from your past circumstances, integrate the lessons learned, embrace your belief system, and experience a true expression of who God made you to be… your Authentic Self.
The basic premise of this model is that challenges in life are natural and normal, even desired, as part of the human experience as a way to encourage movement and growth as we are drawn toward reconnection and reintegration with God, Spirit, The Divine. During our lives, we have struggles (imbalances) between ego and spirit, which cause considerable stress, struggle, and obstacle toward this reconnection and reintegration with The Divine.
The scope of this model/framework is only the human experience from birth through transition back to The Divine with the death of the physical body. The purpose of this model is not to explain the possible existence of past or future lives through reincarnation. Nor is its purpose to describe or acknowledge any spiritual or metaphysical connections beyond this physical manifestation. However, the purpose is also not to discount, deny or reject the possible reality of reincarnation, the metaphysical or other dimensions. These may be explored in the future; however, but this is not within the scope of this model.
This model/framework is not a psychotherapy process and is not intended to replace therapeutic counseling and life coaching. It is intended to provide a framework from which to work during counseling and coaching in order to better understand the different dimensions of a person's life and to understand that problems and challenges in life are normal, even desired, for growth.
